Why do I feel so down and not happy anymore? I also feel really tired and non-motivated. Is that normal for someone to feel that way?

I will be 60 soon. I am not happy, nothing seems to make me happy and I feel down and low.

The only small light in this whole thing is that we are a little more closer now than we were these many years.

I’m wondering about attachment and transference with the therapist and the idea of escape and fantasy? How much do you think your strong feelings, constant thoughts, desires to be with your therapist are a way to escape from your present life? I wonder if the transference serves another purpose than to show us our wounds and/or past experiences, but is a present coping strategy for managing what we don’t want to face (even if unconsciously) in the present—-current relationships, life circumstances, etc. Can anyone relate to this concept of escape in relation to their therapy relationship? How does this play out for you?

If you are a young person who is facing some small crisis then it's normal to feel as you are feeling temporarily. But you need to motivate yourself and snap out of the above feeling else you may fall into depression.
